Apple Foldable iPhone Leaks: There is no doubt that Apple is currently working on a foldable phone. Years after years tech enthusiasts are waiting for Apple’s entry into the foldable mobile market, where competitors like Samsung and Huawei have already registered their name and are dominating the market with their brilliant foldable mobiles. However, a new leak has surfaced on the web, which reveals details about the release date, and specs of the rumored foldable iPhone.
While the details provided in this leak agree with some past reports, the leak’s source, referred to as “zwz,” is unknown and has no verified past records.
As per the leaks, Apple’s first foldable iPhone could debut in 2026 during the fall.
Apple Foldable IPhone Design And Display Details
According to a report by MacRumours, that first reported on this leak, Apple’s rumoured first iPhone fold will come over with a 12 inches screen size when unfolded. Regarding the form factor of the device, the leaker stated that the phone as “comparable to two 6.1-inch iPhones folded together.”
Following this, the leaker also claims that Samsung will be the exclusive supplier of the foldable display. This contradicts the earlier reports that suggests that Apple is yet to select its display supplier and could do so by April this year.
The leak also revealed that the Apple Foldable iPhone will be 4.6 mm thin when unfolded and 9.2 mm when folded, which, if true, would make it more thinner than Apple’s M4 iPad Pro and other leading foldable smartphones.
The Foldable Mechanism
Another important leak claimed by the leaker is that the iPhone Fold will feature a “large folding mechanism” on the left rear side. This would make the phone open like a book, which again contradicts a previous rumour that suggested a clamshell-style fold, which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, or a wrap-around folding design, similar to Huawei’s Mate Xs 2.
Also, rumours are spreading that Apple has experimented with multiple hinge mechanisms, but it remains unclear which design the company will finalize for their production.
Battery And Camera Details
As per the leak, Apple’s first foldable iPhone will come up with a powerful 5000 mAh battery, with two stainless-steel-cased battery cells stacked in a 3D configuration. This leak again contradicts its previous report that said that Apple and Samsung were struggling to develop thinner batteries, which is why there is a delay in the foldable iphone’s release.
According to the reports, the front camera is going to feature Meta Lens technology, which could enhance low-light performance and image sharpness. The main and ultra-wide rear cameras are rumoured to use a hybrid glass-plastic structure, a feature that may improve durability while maintaining proper image quality.
Expected Release Date
The leak suggests that the first ever Apple’s foldable iPhone could debut in the foldable mobile market in 2026 during the fall. However, several other reports claim that the project has faced some kind of delays, which will affect its initial release date, pushing the release to 2027 or later.
